Research integration

 

 

Purpose

The purpose of the research integration initiative is to promote interdisciplinary collaboration in immigration related research through knowledge transfer among stakeholders. It facilitates faster turn-around times and direct feedback possibilities in order to enhance the effectiveness and practicality of research activities. Research and analysis are underway in several topics in order to expand the general understanding and to find best-possible systemic solutions.

The following core topics are regarded to be of primary importance:

Children / youth education, integration, social problems
Modernizing ESL teaching
Canadian skills needs and utilization
Skills assessment and recognition
Immigrants as entrepreneurs
Effective utilization of international connections of immigrants
Age, retirement and pension issues of immigrants
Legal protection and representation of immigrants
- employment, settlement and integration

The opinion poll service of the Canadian Immigrant Resource Network has been developed to add a well-utilizable tool for obtaining fast and reliable information from reference sources.

Please contribute with links to related information and new publications to the virtual library of Canadian immigration-related studies in order to make the collection as complete as possible.

Discussion forums and audio-video teleconferencing services will be introduced to enable communications between researchers at multiple locations.
